About Bill Morton – Since 1926 AUArts has been a major contributor to Canada’s visual culture – in large part to the caliber of its faculty. Case in point is Bill Morton, artist and teacher, who after graduating from the Alberta College of Art (1967) went on to a become the apprentice of a Master Dyer in Japan for 10 years. Bill returned to Calgary in 1983 and has never ceased to inspire students with his knowledge of textiles.
Bill Morton’s work is collected and shown in the United States, Japan, China, and Canada. Bill was awarded the Alberta University of the Arts Alumni Award in 2019.
About Trudie Allen – Trudie Allen taught at the Native Arts and Culture Program at Portage College for over twenty years. She began teaching at Portage College in Lac La Biche in 1997 and retired in 2018. She identifies as Blackfoot and a member of the Blood tribe.
