Managed by cSPACE in partnership with the City of Calgary, the ArtPark provides an outdoor space that is unique, dare we say, in the world. In addition to having the restored heritage school as a backdrop, the park design includes amazing public art by local YYC artists and is inspired by King Edward VII’s family tartan (no looking!). Purpose built with festival infrastructure, ArtPark is ideal for small outdoor performances, public markets, film screenings and, paired with the ArtCubes, provides an unparalleled outdoor canvas for the imagination.

Every creative hub needs a poem about it – we took the one written for us by Calgary’s first and coolest poet laureate, Kris Demeanor, and embed it in steel along our internal ‘street’. As a hard-surfaced extension of the park, this multi-use outdoor space is ideal for extending the capacity of events in our Studio Theatre or used by itself for accommodating tented events. Twinkle lights overhead, a treed boulevard and a sunken terrace surrounded by aspens – community happens here.
